This essay executes a formal and theme analysis of the cinematographic production of Wong Kar Wai, in order to demonstrate that the entirety of his film project, as well as many of his cinematographic strategies, and themes he develops through them, are inside the Modern theory registry. To achieve this, theories of Frederic Jameson about postmodernity, as well as ideas by Andreas Huyssen.
