Crime and Deviance: Interactionist and Functionalist Views.

Based on recent research and on my personal reflection on obesity, symbolic interactionism is the most appropriate theoretical perspective regarding my views on obesity (Mooney, 2014). It explains the causes of obesity in a proper way. Obesity influences all aspects of social life. Obese people are often discriminated by others.

Functionalism has to do with relationships between the parts of society and how the aspects of society are adaptive.
